The success of healthcare transformation practices is highly dependent on the engagement of medical doctors, often working at center-stage of healthcare. Various disruptive innovations and changes are impacting the physician’s role and responsibility, urging this unique profession into redesigning the professional identity of its members.

Coordinated by Wouter Keijser MD and based on a fruitful collaboration between the Royal Dutch Medical Association (KNMG) and the committee Platform Medical Leadership (PML) and operated by an excellent team of Dutch researchers and practicing physicians, this mixed methods project resulted in the World’s 3rd autonomous national framework of medical leadership competencies (RML).
